Bases of Ming Ceramics and Reign Marks
|
For dealers, collectors and general enthusiast of Chinese ceramics one of the great disappointments of most publications is the dearth of available illustrations showing the piece as well as their bases or feet. The FEET don't lie....and can tell you a lot about the age of piece..
So we've a begun a project to gather images and combine them with their bases for educational purposes. Many come from our own image files from previous inventory and others have been scoured from the web including the David Collection in the UK now held in the British Museum. Many also have good enlargements of reign marks as well and all are of the period.
Below is a slide show of the images listed further down the page, if you double click the slide show you will be able to see all the images on one page. All still images further down the page are enlargeable by clicking on them.
